The Discipline of Surgery at the Lambe Institute is home to a wide range of funded cancer research programmes involving academics, clinicians, full time researchers and graduate students.

Our breast cancer research laboratory and Cancer Biobank is primarily funded by the National Breast Cancer Research Institute.

Prof. Stewart Walsh

Professor Walsh leads Leg Ulcer Centre Ireland. This centre specialises in managing patients with lower limb ulcers and is a collaboration between Saolta University Health Care Group, HSE Community Services and the University of Galway.
